FAQ

  • Is this course just a bunch of worksheets?

No. This course uses an effective flashcard method, sectioned out one concept at a time. Each course in this Math Facts Mastery Series has between 35 and 40 lessons with each lesson containing anywhere from 20 to over 300 flashcards. Answers to flashcards are hidden but accessible for students to confirm answers as needed.

  • What makes your course different from apps, videos or other online courses for learning the basic math facts?

Our effective flashcard method allows students to learn and retain new math facts quickly. The proper sectioning of concepts, practice and attention to mastery allows students to build on each earlier step, combine the new with the previously learned information before adding the next level. This makes for better long term information retention and overall success.

  • How long will it take for my son or daughter to learn all of the basic math facts?

It all depends on how much time students spend doing the course exercises and how consistent they are at doing it daily. The more diligent and consistent students are, the faster they will become Math Facts Masters.

  • Can't students just use their phone or a calculator to answer math facts problems?

Yes, they could. But they would never learn their math facts or develop basic number sense or what is called "math fluency" to be able to think with math. Learning and knowing all of the basic math facts is one step needed for a student to succeed at higher levels of math.

  • With the advent of computers, cell phones and AI, some people (even some educators) are saying that it is not necessary for students to learn math. Is this true?

Yes, some people are saying this. However, it is a short-sighted view of the use of math in life. Math is needed in an endless list of everyday activities like balancing bank accounts, calculating percentages for major purchases, investments and so much more. Preparation for any STEM career (science, technology, engineering and math) or other demanding fields with high earning potential (medicine, etc.) also requires a high level of competency with math.
